The three-way catalytic converter has stable performance, reliable quality and long service life, and its products are widely used in Toyota, Honda, Buick, Audi, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Suzuki, Changhe and other models.

The carrier part of the catalytic converter is a porous ceramic material, which is installed in the special exhaust pipe. It is called a carrier because it does not take part in the catalytic reaction itself, but is covered with a layer of precious metals such as platinum, rhodium and palladium. It can turn HC and CO into water and CO2, and decompose Nox into nitrogen and oxygen. HC and CO are toxic gases, which will lead to death if inhaled too much, while NOX will directly lead to the occurrence of photochemical smog.

The three-way catalytic converter has been proven to be the most effective way to reduce these emissions. Through oxidation and reduction reactions, carbon monoxide is oxidized to carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons are oxidized to water and carbon dioxide, and nitrogen oxides are reduced to nitrogen and oxygen.

All three harmful gases are turned into harmless gases. Ternary catalysts react at a minimum of 250 degrees Celsius, and when the temperature is too low, the conversion efficiency drops dramatically; and the activity temperature of the catalyst (the optimum working temperature) is about 400 to 800 degrees Celsius, and too high will also aggravate the aging of the catalyst. The best catalytic conversion is achieved at the ideal air-fuel ratio (14.7:1).
